About me – Jane Ilsa Slemeck

Jane-Slemeck-3My early career was in the catering business, starting with many different service roles, moving onto line management, and then taking on personnel and training functions, before finally becoming director of personnel services for an outdoor catering company.

This was great grounding for my next role as a self employed consultant, group facilitator in management and team development and business coach. I worked for many years for a variety of organisations, in a wide range of industries including many investment banks, law firms, manufacturing businesses, the NHS and several other public service organisations.

My formal further education includes a Diploma in Management Studies, an MSc in Personnel Management and several business and occupational related courses including Trainer training, Transactional Analysis and qualifications as a trainer and coach of NLP.

Much of my work was involved with people in transition; some who were consciously making changes in their lives whilst others had been precipitated into a change that left them feeling at a loss and at a crossroads. My curiosity and need to understand more about how we cope with life’s challenges led me, first, to study Transpersonal Psychology followed by combining two of my passions – art and psychotherapy and as a mature student I studied part time for a MA in Art Psychotherapy.

My work now is focused on supporting people on a journey of self discovery and transition, facilitating their work using a holistic approach and a variety of tools that help them meet their challenges creatively and in a way that is right for them. I work one to one and with small groups using a range of my background skills and experience as well as Visual Medicine, Soul Contract work, Shamanic Counselling and Yoga.

I live in rural Oxfordshire where I love to walk, be in nature and spend time with my family. I have a garden studio where I run my Insights through Paint practice and create my own multi-media mosaics. I continue my own explorations into my interests in the connection between the soul’s journey, creativity, the psychological and the spiritual through my practices and study.
